APMA Junior Board

Representing and supporting young scientists in Proteomics, Lipidomics, Metabolomics and Bioinformatics.

About

APMA is short for Austrian Proteomics and Metabolomics Association. APMA's mission is to represent researchers in the fields of proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics in Austria and to foster a community that emphasizes scientific dialogue, exchange of ideas and supporting researchers at any point of their career. The APMA Junior Board especially focuses on representing the interests of young scientists and aims to support early-stage researchers.

What we do

Together with APMA we organize APMRS once a year – a conference that brings together scientists from proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics to discuss recent developments in the specific fields. APMA especially supports early-stage researchers by awarding travel grants for attending conferences and other scientific events. The APMA Junior Board also hosts the "APMA Stammtisch" several times a year in different Austrian cities. The Stammtisch is a casual get together for meeting other young scientists and APMA members that focuses on socializing and networking. Another way of how we supports researchers is by actively promoting publications. Please reach out to us if you want to have your publication posted! Moreover, together with APMA we also give out publication awards for the best publications! You can read more about that here. We usually also are present at the APMA journal club that is hosted by APMA once a week where we review and discuss impactful publications. Furthermore, we frequently also help out at the APMA special-interest groups like the "Omics Tech Hub" that was recently founded where we discuss best practices for various research tasks.
